Case of defamation against company for wrongful termination?

Hi all, After working for 2 month in company X, i got an offer in company Y. I got selected in the interview. After that, while bargaining the salary they asked me how much i was getting in X and i told them 19000 though i was getting 14000 actually. I got the offer letter from Y. At the time of joining I was asked to submit the salary proof from company X. Please note that no where in the offer letter it was mentioned to submit. Anyway, I got an offer letter from the state head of X with the salary mentioned as 19000 per month, at the time of leaving. And i submitted the same to Y. I got the appointment letter from Y and started working. After 2 weeks i got a call from the HR team of Y and they informed that there is a discrepancy of salary mentioned in the offer letter i submitted from X and the reply about salary they got from the HR of X. They did the background verification directly with the HR of X. And they asked to submit the salary slips of two months to avoid disciplinary action. But no where in the Appointment letter it was mentioned that its mandatory to submit the salary slip or any documents that shows salary. So i didn't submit it, but informed X about the situation going on. And they send an email to the company Y stating that my actual salary was 14000 with accommodation and not 19000. Finally i got termination letter and they(Y) stated the reason for termination as submission of fake documents to get the job. * The document (offer letter from X) was no where mentioned in the offer letter or appointment letter of Y to be submitted. But they terminated me on the issue regarding that document. * I didn't submit any fake documents. And X never said that the offer letter i submitted was fake. I explained it to them(Y) well. I said to them that the salary mentioned in offer letter of X was including accommodation and it was a mistake. And i got them clarification letter from X explaining that my salary was 14000 plus accommodation. But it was of no use. I asked them to state the proper reason in the termination letter as i didn't do any fraud in the offer letter. They didn't listen. So I asked them to submit any proof that i did fraud. And they couldn't give any proof. Now i lost the job and what stated in the termination letter is giving a red light to my career. Three months I was mentally tortured and harassed. I would like to know if there is any chance for me to file a defamation case against the company Y? Will I get compensation in that case? Please help me... Thank you...
