Road widening Area left by builder is still private property UDS or public?

Hi, our apartment is on Belathur Road. The building plan mentions area left for road widening. This is excluding setback for the apartment. There isn't any clarity given if compensation by BBMP was provided for expanding narrow road some years back. The entrance to Belathur itself is very narrow. I'm not sure why at the entrance no area was left for road widening. Only this stretch we have which is wide. Now they don't want us to allow visitors/ delivery personnel parking on road as police came and said it's public road. What about compensation at current land value, since they can taken whatever they please. Wasn't the area part of our property? If that's the case what happens to the undivided share for the flat owners? Why only some building have to leave space for road while other buildings can eat up every inch and build temples? The entrance to the Belathur road is reminder that however wide road one stretch has, if the entrance is narrow, then what's the use ? Currently residents not questioning this at all, instead asking us as a threat to visit authorities when it is MC duty. Without lawyer, who will listen to us.
