Cancellation of unit RNCTOWER-18 in the Resort New Chandigarh, Omaxe

1. I had booked a 3 BHK flat at Omaxe new Chandigarh in the year 2017 by paying booking amount of Rs 1 lakh. Thereafter, I religiously and rigorously paid further installments and deposited Rs 4.96 Lakh including booking amount. 2. I could not pay the balance installments / outstanding money due to medical problem of my wife and also financial condition of myself. The company cancelled the agreement on 16 Nov 2019 and informed me that as per the provisions under RERA Act, 2016 the booking / allotment of the said unit allotted in your name stands cancelled and the sum of Rs 4,37,859/-, interest of Rs 74,435/- and applicable GST for delayed payment calculated as per provisions of the RERA are stand forfeited. 3. Please tell how much money can be forfeited by the company. According to my perception only the booking amount can be forfeited and the balance money is to be refunded to buyer. Why should a buyer pay the interest money or the GST if the allotment of such flat has been cancelled and the flat has not actually been purchased.
