Regarding rectification deed

Dear Sir, My father has purchased a land from party "X" in the year 1998 on his name. My father expired in the year 2007. We are a family of 3 members i.e., my mother , my brother and myself. We are in peaceful occupancy of the property. Now we are of plan to construct a new house in the same plot since the existing building is in collapse state. Accordingly we (my mother , brother and myself) decided to transfer the ownership of property from my father name to my name and proceed with construction. I need the process of transfer registration, I identified a mistake in the sale deed of my father and party X. The error was , in the schedule of the property , boundaries and directions ( North, East, West, South ) were recorded wrong. The boundary which is in north is mentioned as west, west as south, south as east, and east as north. As I mentioned the problem to the stamp writer he suggested we should do a rectification deed. He said find out the document from the error has recorded and from that document we should get the deed get corrected. I searched all the link documents and noticed a surprising thing. The plot was initially alloted by town MUNICIPAL CORPORATION. In the initial document itself they recorded the wrong directions and subsequently it got carried forwarded and exchanged hands of four parties. My stamp writer told that the rectification shall be done from the initial document itself and subsequently all the four documents has to be changed by four parties and only then I should register my rectification deed. As you can see it is a tidious process and Municipal corporation staff denied any such rectification are not being done as on toady by corporation. I need your suggestion for this problem. What shall I do now. Please suggest your views
