Attempt to second marriage without divorce of first marriage

My cousin (bride) is 19 years old and the groom is 32 years. Marriage was fixed in a Hindu temple, by both the groom's and bride's side, having full knowledge of the failure of the groom's first marriage (of 4.5 years, but they were separated for just 8 months). Groom's family stated that the first wife has given a written statement in a local police station that she will not claim any rights in his property and she has no objection of his next marriages. Divorce has been filed by the groom and the first wife has not appeared in the hearings going on at the family court. The bride's family had no knowledge of the proceedings of the divorce case. The temple refused to marry them on the fixed date, stating reasons that he has not been divorced and complaints have been received from his first wife. Also, no proofs have been submitted by the groom to the temple in this regard. The bride's family took a step back and advised to first get divorce and then to re-marry. But the groom refused to solve these issues with his first wife in this regard and has threatened the bride's family to kidnap the bride and marry her in his house. It is further important to note that the groom's behavior after this issue turns out that he is so wanting and needy to re-marry which is abnormal. No man in his full senses, will re-marry in spite of the first wife being alive and no divorce has been granted. The bride's family is not supportive of this decision and decides to cancel the wedding. But the bride, who is only 19 years, and her mother (guardian) are fully co-operative with the groom, have agreed to this marriage stating that the groom is threatening both of them with some audio. Keeping in view the bride's age (19 yrs) and this situation, are there any legal remedies available beforehand for the bride's family to cancel this marriage or to convince the bride to cancel this marriage?
