Illegal Occupation of a Temple's Agricultural Land

Our family has been living in a temple for the last 5 generations and we have been priests of the temple ever since. Temple is located in Uttar Pradesh. About 70 years ago, about 27 bigha land was purchased using funds from public donations to the temple in the name of deities. The land is still in the name of deities in the temple. At the time of purchase, one shrewd business owner who was a mediator of the purchase and did not contribute anything towards the purchase, got himself listed as "Mohatmim" i.e., a caretaker of the temple. When that person was alive, our forefathers continued to use the land and used that money to manage the temple and its associated expenses. Now his son has illegally occupied the land and does not contribute anything towards temple. What is the best way to free this illegal occupation of temple property? The temple currently does not have a trust and this temple has been in our possession for generations. It is not a public temple and has living areas (a house) surrounding the temple premise, which was built by our forefathers.
