Housing Cooperative Society

A big plot of land was acquired in the name of society from one seller. Sale deed is in the name of society. The land was developed into 50 plots and was allotted to members by way of units of society. So, one unit for one plot. Units are in the name of my father. All members of the society are charged with a fixed amount as monthly maintenance fee. Society has constructed a compound wall on one of its side for which the contribution was separately raised from members. My father and some 3-4 members has some dispute on the method of raising the contribution and has not yet paid the same to society. However, majority of the members are agreeing to the method as it is beneficial to them and such members are in majority Committee is saying that the society will not cooperate us in any matter and shall not give NOC for any matter unless these dues are paid. I am residing in the state of Goa. Is it legally binding on us to pay such contribution? Can society deny to transfer the units of my father to me after his demise on this grounds?
