Clarification on impact in a road accident case

While driving in a car from 1 City to another, on the highway a two-wheeler suddenly served into my lane by crossing the road (single lane road) and as much as I tried to avoid him by braking and turning the vehicle, unfortunately he still hit my car rear view mirror, spiralled out of control and fell by the roadside and suffered a head injury. After attempting to call for an ambulance and none being available, we took him to the nearest village medical hospital where he was pronounced critical. Subsequently he was moved to a bigger hospital in the nearest town via ambulance since they couldn't do anything more there and we were escorted to the nearest police station by the police. We believe the 2-wheeler driver was also drunk at the time, but have no other proof except for a hospital worker mentioning it. Now the police have seized the car and noted down my details. The 2-wheeler driver is still in a critical stage as per the last update we got and we wish him a speedy recovery, and the police have said they will call us and intimate us on the update and they have filed an FIR. I have also been intimated, that as the driver, I will need charged with an accident case and will have to pay bail (amount unknown). I've also been told my license will be suspended for 6 months. I want to understand what is my legal liability in this case and what should i expect.
