Borrower has stopped paying EMI without informing Guarantor

Dear Sir.. I have a query & looking for expert guidance to address the issue. My friend purchased a flat from Supertech Eco village 4 in 2014 under subvention scheme financed by Indiabulls. At the time of financing the loan, Indiabulls demanded a local reference as borrower doesn't reside in the city where disbursement is made & Indiabulls doesnt have its presence in the city where borrower resides. I agreed to be the local reference and enquired multiple times from Indiabulls as well as friend that it will not be guarantor. Trusting them I signed few documents that I donot recall right now.I was surprised to see this loan reflecting in my CIBIL as gurarantor. My friend wrote to Indiabulls regarding the breach of trust & misguidance however there was no response from them. Since the property is still not handedover even after 6 years of agreement, my friend has stopped paying EMIs from last 6 months to Indiabulls and is planning to file a suit against Supertech & Indiabulls as they were in tripartite agreement. I was not informed about stopping of EMIs by my friend, neither do I have any copy of loan documents from Indiabulls where I could find my name as Guarantor. This payment default has badly impacted my cibil score & now all my loan applications are getting rejected. I have made advance booking for purchase of flat, however in event of loan rejection I will lose the entire booking amount. I have requested borrower to resume EMIs and pursue legal case in parallel however he is not agreeing. I need expert advise as to how I can get out of this mess and what rights I have against borrower who kept me in dark. Borrower is working in MNC company. I am mentally stressed and this has led to family dispute as well as impacted my health.
