Inappropriate Warranty Service and Data Privacy Breach

We purchased Whirlpool refrigerator on 14 June 2018. Within 6 months of usage we realized that there is a cooling issue with the refrigerator. Even at setting the temperature at 2 degrees, the fridge was not cooling appropriately. On complaining, the service person visited and foremost asked us if the refrigerator was in warranty. Then he didn’t spend even 2 minutes to look inside the refrigerator. He told us that all Whirlpool refrigerators are like this and there is no issue with it. The issue increased, and by December 2019 the defrosting system of the refrigerator stopped working and we could see ice on the body of the refrigerator. We complained again. On December 21, 2019 we received a call from a guy named Hari. He asked us when he can visit and was near our apartment. He had all our details, about the issue, our address and phone number. He visited us and said that the motherboard needs replacement and cannot be repaired. We told him that we have been complaining about the cooling since warranty period but nothing was checked then. He gave us a temporary solution by removing the gas kit from the freezer and fixing it again. He told us to see if it helps, otherwise we should call him to take the motherboard with him. We emailed the Whirlpool team the same day about the defects in the refrigerator and why this was not checked during the warranty period. We received no reply from them. Hari’s solution didn’t work for more than 3 days, so we called the Whirlpool again. On December 28, 2019 another executive appeared. We told him what the earlier guy had told us. He asked us for his phone number and called Hari in front of us and put the phone on speaker. To our shock, he confirmed that Hari was not a Whirlpool service person but a local third-party engineer who was working for Whirlpool. We were terrified to realise the risk of having our personal details in Whirlpool database and to raise a service request with them; any random guy could reach our doorstep. If required, I can file a police complaint for further investigation into this issue. I have the contact details of both the service persons who visited my flat. We're fighting with Whirlpool since then. On February 19, 2020, Whirlpool team called us and offered us an option of return or refund of 1 year depreciated value of the refrigerator. We accepted the deal of refund but they didn’t call us back and have been delaying the next steps. Then the lockdown happened. On June 09, 2020, they denied the offer of refund. The service delivery area manager was also on the line, denied any responsibility of lack of data privacy. We only want refund. It’s a clear threat to our security and peace based on the experience. The delay and mismanagement of this issue has led to a lot of stress for us and I cannot continue any relationship with Whirlpool. How can we fight this?
