My father has filed a police complaint against my mother and myself.

My mother and father have been separated since 2013, and me and my brother live with my mom. Both my parents are 67 years old. Few days ago I received a phone call from local police station in my hometown stating my father has filed a complaint against my mom, myself and my brother for leaving him. He claims he has no money for his medical and day to day expenses. Police requested presence at the police station for further inquiry. However my mother has been suffering from diabetes and was keeping unwell recently, so we did not go. Questions - 1. My father called my mom and told her that he will be sending a police notice to my office address since we're not answering phone calls from the police. What are the implications? Will I be arrested if I report to the station after receiving the notice? 2. My mom wishes to file for a divorce now. How can we proceed? 3. My father has lived very irresponsibly throughout his life which caused the separation from my mother. She doesn't think he deserves any maintenance or compensation for how he has treated her all life, but I don't mind paying him for his day to day care. However I'm afraid if he asks such an amount that I cannot afford, thoughts?
