Set up Ayurvedic cosmetics handmade business

Planning to start a business that sells handmade Ayurvedic oils and powders for skin care and hair care. This will be based out of Kerala and one of the founders is an Ayurvedic doctor BAMS, MD. We don’t have the financial backing to set up a manufacturing unit. We don’t plan to scale it either. The idea is to cater to small volumes and sell online. We will make the oils and powders at home through handmade processes. 1. What are the relevant regulations for this? There are big players such as Kama Ayurveda and smaller players who sells handmade products. Do they also fall under manufacturing rules and regulations? There won’t be any machinery, we don’t plan to lease 1200 sq ft space in industrial area or employ pharmacists. 2. Is it better to get licenses under drugs and cosmetics act for this? 3. Does this fall under Khadi or village industries regulations (the house is located in rural area)? 4. Are there rules regarding procurement, waste management, pollution etc 5. What are the regulations for marketing such as label licenses? 6. Are there any specific provisions for online sales ? 7. Any lawyers who can work with us regarding this.
