Under what clauses/sections can a family court decline an interim maintenance application?

I am a Hindu male (32) and a divorce petitioner. Got married in May 2016 . I filed for a petition about 8 months ago after my wife voluntarily left my home 15 months ago. I tried to persuade her for mutual divorce but she did not agree. During the counselling she demanded that she is willing to stay with me provided that we live separately from my parents. I am not ready to accept this and hence it was a no deal for me. She lives with her mother now as she does not have a brother and her father passed away long back before the marriage. She also attempted a suicide in 2017 and that is one of the reasons that I do not wish to stay with her again. We have no children. Her family's actual financial status is very very good and her family income is roughly 5 to 6 times that of mine because they have real estate property on lease etc. She has one 2 bedroom flat in her name which she has rented out. She gets income from other sources as well, But they have still applied for an interim maintenance in the court. The girl is a postgraduate in science. I would like to know what cases/references can we show in the court so that the court will decline maintenance?
