CHS refusing to carry out repairs

Dear Sir, We are a 40 year old housing society in Chembur (W). Our society is mostly flanked by slums. BMC has raised the road level in our area several times in the past. As a result, the level of road has gone above the level of our compound. Hence, there is a serious problem of rainwater drainage. To add to this, even rainwater from the road and neighboring compound flows into our compound. This is a major issue for ground floor member (I am one of them), as the rainwater enters the house from outside and floods the house. Even the toilet and bathroom are filled with water. Hence, our routine life is greatly affected by this. This happens at least 8-10 times during the rainy season. Moreover, since there is no proper drainage available due to the raised road, it takes almost 2-3 days for the rain water to drain from our compound. The stale water gives raise to foul odor, raising the risk of health issues. We have been constantly complaining regarding this issue to our CHS secretary. However, he and managing committee members are saying that nothing can be done due to the Topographics. They are not even considering the option of carrying out some repairs to eliminate or minimize this problem. I had once made an online complain to BMC regarding this water logging issue with relevant photo proof. But there was response from their side as well. Every passing year the issue is increasing in magnitude. Its has become a very traumatic event. The apathy of managing committee members and BMC officials are adding to our woes. We dont know what to do next. Kindly guide us regarding the options available to us and course of action which we can take to get this issue resolved before this rainy season. Your prompt reply will be highly appreciated. Thanks & Regards, Karthikeyan
