Based on current Indian laws: if divorced in US then in India?

Hello Experts, I am writing here to request current effective laws and/or information about divorce in abroad. Following are the details: Background: We got married and registered in India and as I live in USA I applied for my Husband's green card process. He moved to America last year in May. As we didn't get along and there was certain degree of abuse involved I had to file for divorce as soon as possible. He also hired a lawyer and divorce was filed on mutual consent basis. Currently, the lawyers in the US are working on our case and we are scheduled for final hearing soon. For this final hearing in America, him and his attorney are not going to appear in the court and it will be just me and my attorney. My husband is in India from past two months and planning to stay for an extended period of time. Question : once the divorce is finalized in America is it valid in India or not? Although, divorced with mutual consent in America, will the opposite party be eligible/allowed to file case against me in India all over again? Your legal advice and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards.
