• How much time should it take in getting the verdict on the case?

Hello,

I have filed a case of cheque bounce in Meerut court around 14 months back. On every date my lawyer says that the defendant is not receiving the summons and that's why the case is taking so much time. He is asking me to go personally to the defendant area's police station to check about the summon and ask them about it. Is it needed? Also how much time should it take in getting the verdict on the case?
