• Cheque bounced

I have given Mr. Prabhu a cheque and that was bounce on 23rd of Dec 2013. He has send me a reminder on 25th dec 2013that " the cheque is bounced and be ready for legal action. Is this email will be taken as legal notice and within 15 days period will calculated from the day of email or from the day of cheque bounce?

For cheque already bounced you are liable, but; pending cheques can be stopped as suggested.

This is not a valid notice. The drawee has to make a demand for payment of dishonoured cheque . If that is the exact language in the e-mail then there is no demand to make payment.

Drawee has to send notice within one month of dishonour of cheque.
