• charged fir as 376/511IPC?

Hi, one of my friend has some trouble. he is married to a girl from last 3years and girl is not living with him. She has a bad charater. she has relation with her relatives.now some days back they entered the home with some hired gunda in absence of anyone at home. they broke the doors and entered.now they have logged a FIR in local police staion that her fater in law attempted a rape.what can be done now? he want divorce? please advice?
