Though registration after marriage is required by law.But, not registering your marriage will not make it illegal or void.

I got married one month back. It ws an arranged marriage & social marriage. I am a govt employee, now my husband does not agree to register our marriage. Is registration required after a marriage done socially for Hindu marriage? Is Hindu marriage illegal without registration? I'll b waiting 4 your valuable advice. Thank you.
