Document title- memorandum not titled as confidential
Subject was - related to issues between two different cadres in same institute e.g a hospitap now turnd to teaching hospital as medical college or postgraduate institute.one cadre-specialists another cadre-teaching like professor.
I used a document which was true but not directly from central government, but by third person whom i really do not remember , might be taken and saved from whatsapp and used to get promotion. document is genuine and photocopied. is it illegal to produce such document in request to government for getting my rights in my official post.what does civil, central or any other rule applicable in this case. will it be considered as offence.

I believe this has been answered previously.

If the document is a confidential one then you can not use it.

But if the same has been obtained by some other person officially then you can use it.

No it is not illegal to use this document for promotion, just for the reason that it hasn't been passed on to you through proper channel.

There could have been a trouble for you only in case this document was classified as secret.

If you rely on certain documentary evidences, and the said documetns are genuine or the sources from which such documents procured are reliable, then there is no problem in proceeding with the said issue.

Nobody will ask you the source where you got this document, they will first look into the genuineness of the document or its contents, if yes, then there should not be any problem in this regard.
