I am a divorced woman, with sole custody of my 3.5 yr old son. The father has visitation (unlimited). He is not paying for anything, but has medical insurance for the child, which is used in case of hospitalization. Can this arrangement be renegotiated if I remarry? Will my new spouse have to legally adopt the child to become his guardian? What rights will my ex retain over the child?
